Welcoming Life

Posted on August 9, 2012 at 12:49 PM
When I moved "Beyond Wellfleet", my dear (and talented) friend Patty Adduci gave me this needlepoint. I hung it on the wall of my new home almost before the paint dried.
It followed me to my second home and reminds me every morning to think of flowers
and the fading cold of winter--caused by sorrow.

The subtitle of Above & Beyond Wellfleet is "Welcoming Life After Loss". In this blog, I hope to expand the welcoming part of moving on from loss. I also hope to spur a conversation which highlights just how hard--but possible it is to see the "flowers appear on the earth".

My "flowers" have been the family and friends who have walked with me. It may sound corny, but with this blog, I'd like that garden to grow.

Connie

Not Corny at all, each one of us experience sorrow and grief in many different forms, the vision of having the snow and icicles disappear and greenery, petals and floral scents filling that void are inspiring and beautiful!! Good Luck on your blog!! We need more happy places such as this to get one another through those cold winters!

What a brilliant idea to start a blog to help you chart your course to welcome the light after the dark. I love the clouds. I think of Joni Mitchell when I see them. I hear music when others may see art.
I will follow your blog, but may not say much. I enjoy the inspirational ideas. I do not believe what you wrote is corny. It is from the heart and that is Connie.

Well! Everyone beat me to making the "no, this isn't corny" comment! I love the needlepoint's sentiment. The seasons, emotions, life itself is just one big cycle. If only we could all master the patience to know that flowers, indeed, are a'comin'.

Much pleasant to read! The subtitle is very inspiring and perfect for those who have lost their hops of life. I think they can hold the line to go to forward. Thanks Connie for a nice detail.
